Roadside Chicharrón

This was painted when we were in Bolivia, years ago. We used to stop along the road near Cochabamba and eat chicharrón on Sundays. The chicharrón was cooked over a fire in a fifty gallon drum and served over mote (hominy style corn). You could always get a beer or a soft drink, too. Inca Cola was a popular locally bottled soft drink, not a cola actually, but a cream soda. Great memories.

Oil on canvas, framed, 8 x 10. In private collection in Houston, Texas.
