longhorn calf

Blossom

Jo's mom always named the calves at the ranch. Any calves she could spot when riding horseback or in the pickup from a distance she called "blossoms". At the time, the cattle she worked with were herefords and had white ears sticking up. This calf doesn't have white ears, but is named in honor of Jo's mom. Pastels depict the texture and rich colors.

Pastel on Pastelbord.10 x 8 inches. Framed in dark, plein air frame.
